Control Your Android Device From Windows Using DeskDock Fixed

Wouldn't it be great if you could use your computer's input devices on your phone or tablet? The good news is that you can. Here's how to control your Android device using your computer's mouse and keyboard.

Control Your Android Device From Windows Using DeskDock

We've explained how to use a mouse for Android on your mobile device using the DeskDock app and introduced you to a couple of alternatives. Hopefully, these let you use your device just as you'd like to.

Of course, the set-up is not exactly simple. You will need to install the application on your Android device, download a server program for your computer (supports Windows, Linux and Mac) and connect them using a USB cable. But it seems the system works great after all is set up, and it is very simple to use.

Back in 2016, I envisioned the same functionality, except that at the time, my work mostly concentrated on Android development. I wanted a way to seamlessly control my development machine and the target Android device with a single pair of mouse and keyboard. Since the only software that supported similar flexibility had at that time been abandoned and suffered from great usability problems, I decided to write my own tool for the job. After a few months of very intensive work, I had developed a working application that did exactly what I wanted as a user. Not only does it support sharing mouse and keyboard of a Windows, macOS or Linux computer with an unlimited number of connected Android devices, it also for the first time ever allowed conveniently dragging and dropping URLs and files from a computer to an Android device. Since its release in autumn of 2016, DeskDock has been downloaded by more than 100 000 users worldwide.

Enable USB Debugging Next we need to enable usb debugging. Do this from System, Advanced, Developer Options. Scroll down until you see USB Debugging and toggle it to on. After you do this step you can actually start using DeskDock, but with a usb cable only. If you want to NOT have to plug in every time you can enable wireless adb and that will allow you to control your phone without plugging in.

It's not too difficult to imagine the possibility of remotely accessing your Android device right from your computer. Maybe your phone is one that is not easily accessible, connected to a computer in a different room, or you require the help of a specialist to fix your phone remotely. Perhaps you are at work and happen to leave your phone with valuable data at home, and the only way to retrieve it would be connect the device remotely. Or maybe you have a lot of text to type and or you just need a larger screen with which to work. Fortunately, it's easy to access android phones from PC remotely.

FlexiHub makes Android remote access easy. FlexiHub enables USB peripheral sharing with a remote android device. Just like a computer-to-computer setup, you can share a USB device connected to your mobile device with a desktop computer.

TeamViewer is an exceptional remote access android app. Its reliability and ease of use make it a favorite among techies for remote accessing Android phones. TeamViewer lets users transmit files between desktop and Android mobile devices. You can also remotely access a machine from your smartphone.

Remote Desktop Connection lets users connect to remote computers using RDP or VNC protocols. This app enables Android devices to interact with Linux, Windows, and Mac operating systems. It boasts multiple awesome features like automatic encryption mode, customizable resolutions, and a bookmarks manager. RDC also includes a Touch Pointer. This function lets you use gesture controls, and has a tab for RDP connections specifically. Remote Desktop Control is open-source and available on Google Code.

DeskDock allows you to share your computer's mouse with your Android devices via a USB cable. The app enables you to control your Android device as if it was an additional monitor for your computer. Simply move your computer's mouse cursor over the screen boundaries to use it with your Android devices.

Do you want to turn your tablet into a second monitor? then DeskDock app is a perfect choice for you. It can combine your device while keeping them separate, so you can use your computer mouse or keyboard to control the device.

To enjoy this feature, you need to install the application on your Android device and at the same time, download a server program for you Mac, Linux or Windows computer, then connect them using a USB cable. You can watch the below video for more details:

Have you ever wanted to create a seamless connection between your Android devices and computer? Have you tried operating the former using the latter, from reading messages to playing mobile games on a bigger screen? If you're answering in the affirmative now, then learning about Android remote control free tools should be a good start.

AirDroid is at the top of the most powerful options for apps that allow you to remote control an Android phone from a PC. It helps you manage and monitor your messages and notifications and mirror the movements of your mouse and screen. You can get it for free or for a monthly fee.

Since you can remotely access an Android device using a remote control app, you can troubleshoot issues with the device. You don't need to physically be close to the unit or hold it in person when you have virtual access.

Remote control tools and free download apps make connecting your computer to a remote employee's Android device easier without interrupting workflow and allowing for better collaboration. For example, you can manage and transfer files needed for your team projects.

You can enroll multiple Android devices under your control. Then, you can manage each device's security policies and settings, distribute the necessary files and apps, and track them if they are lost or misplaced.

An IT endpoint manager is similar to an Android remote control free download app. It can control Android devices and configure the settings for them. Here are a few tasks that an endpoint manager can do when it controls Android devices in your network:

Are you looking for this control over the Android devices connected to your network? Check out ITarian and its IT endpoint manager (EM), which allows you to monitor, manage, and secure devices linked to your network.

Imagine being able to carry around your PC in your pocket, using it as a smartphone by itself and as a full-fledged PC when connected to a display, keyboard, and mouse. For people who work on the road or in multiple locations, that sounds like nirvana. Ditto for shift workers, from call centers to retail associates, where you have more employees than terminals at any given time.

Nor is the full-screen app display as cool as it might be. For example, if you directly launch an app on your Elite X3, then enable external-display control, the app running on the phone is not moved to the external display. Instead, you have to separately launch the app from the external display's Start menu. That's an unintuitive UI choice, though it does let you run one app on the smartphone and another on the external display.

Also, the virtual desktop is separate from the local device. Although this serves to keep corporate documents from leaving your back-end servers, it creates a confusing duality of local versus remote work. HP Workspace allows users to connect to corporate Dropbox accounts (Google Drive and Box access is in beta), to which they could then be permitted to access directly from the Elite x3 smartphone for mobile usage. Oddly, HP Workspace doesn't support the Microsoft OneDrive or SharePoint services that a Windows-centric organization is likely to have in place.

The idea with the Elite X3 is that it's the 'only device you'll need'. You work on it while truly mobile, dock it and work from a large secondary display/monitor via Continuum when at a desk, and via the HP Lap Dock, also via Continuum, when somewhere that you can sit down. All the all the while your applications and logins, your documents and state, seamlessly work across phone and the larger displays.

With the mobile WhatsApp client running in Bluestacks, you can use both the web-based WhatsApp client as well as the desktop client even with your mobile device disconnected from the internet as long as you keep your computer running.

Vysor is a remote desktop application that lets you wirelessly view and control your Android device from a computer. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, and in the Chrome web browser. This means you can control the official WhatsApp mobile client using a full-sized keyboard to easily type over a hundred words per minute without your thumbs disintegrating in the process.

There are many ways how to use WhatsApp on a computer. Apart from the official web and desktop clients, you can also use an Android emulator to run the mobile WhatsApp client directly on any Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. If you own an Android device, you can access it remotely and control WhatsApp with a mouse and keyboard.
